Job Description:
General Summary:
To organize, provide leadership for, and conduct all phases of the Women's Soccer program. Participates in organization and execution of Women's Soccer practices, scouting reports, and individual workouts. Supports student athlete welfare and good academic standing of team members. Assists in developing, directing, and teaching competitive Women's Soccer program. Supports with identifying and recruiting potential student-athletes. Demonstrates skills in organization, calendar planning and developing travel itineraries. Provides a positive Christian coach role model.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Head Coach of Women's Soccer, develop a quality Women's Soccer program to meet institutional and NCAA qualifying criteria for National Championship competition.
Assist with daily operations of Women's Soccer Program, teaching and coaching in a manner that will promote excellence, growth and development on an individual and team level.
Participates in execution of team practices and individual workouts. Teaches concepts regarding physical well-being, team-building and safety.
Recruit quality student-athletes who possess extraordinary talent as well as personal beliefs and standards that are compatible with the mission of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Monitor student-athletes academic standing to insure that normal progress toward a degree is being made Teaching in a student learning experience that is geared around Falcon student-athlete goals and expectations.
Assists in aspects of NCAA compliance, including, but not limited to grade checks, practice reports and official visit forms.
Arrange for and manage all aspects of Women's Soccer team travel.
Purchase appropriate and necessary supplies and equipment.
Develops scouting reports on opponents and breaks down film from our own team in order to teach individual and team skill development.
Provides for spiritual/social development of student athletes. Develops meaningful relationships with student-athletes in order to lead, motivate, and teach them to maximize their potential.
Engages the University community by participating in campus activities at the discretion of the Athletic Administration.
Requirements:
College degree.
College level coaching experience, preferred.
Additional Information:
Position will remain open until filled.
This category of employment recognizes the unique demands and unusual schedule of coaching an intercollegiate sport. Employees in this category will work an irregular, seasonal schedule with understanding and agreement that during the applicable sports season and certain off-season training periods and/or high-demand recruiting periods the demands may well exceed 40-hour workweeks. It is also understood and agreed that during less demanding periods the employee may fulfill the position's responsibilities by working less than 40 hours per week. It is also understood and agreed that there will be designated two months during which the employee will be available with reasonable notice for meetings and/or electronic consultation but will otherwise not be scheduled for regular work activities. During this two-month period, employees in this category will be permitted to accept additional compensated employment either from SPU or outside entities.
Salary: $35,000 - $38,500 annually
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan. Tuition discount program available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
