The salary for this position is between $71,484.00 and $96,688.00 - dependent upon experience and education.

Job Duties
Duties of the Sports Medicine Faculty/Athletic Trainer include: Serving as the primary instructor for the COS Sports Medicine Program. Duties include taking an active interest in the sports medicine students' academic endeavors, teaching Sports Medicine courses, recruiting sports medicine students to the program, coordinating and providing athletic training coverage of athletic practices and competitions. (This position receives 20% release time to perform athletic training coverage for sporting events throughout the school year).
Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
Active participation in departmental duties including attending department meetings, campus committee involvement, and all other functions relating to the assignment.
The position includes assignments in the evenings and weekends for COS Athletic contests and/or teaching assignments.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an entry-level athletic training education program AND certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) as an athletic trainer AND two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience.
If the candidate has the Bachelor's entry-level athletic training education program degree listed above, the candidate must also possess a Master's degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR the equivalent.
Current CPR Adult Certificate with AED and First Aid certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Current California Driver's License with a good driving record; AND
A sensitivity to and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications
Ability to recruit and matriculate students through the COS Sports Medicine Program.
Ability to maintain positive relationships with COS Students, Staff, and Campus colleagues.
Maintain positive relationships with our local medical community.
Ability to take the lead the health and safety efforts for the COS Athletics program.
