Works under the direction of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Assists in the operation of a golf course facility to include: membership and membership events, guest service programs, pro shop and food & beverage inventory practices, cash handling procedures, payroll and attendance, buying of non-sale and resale items, financial reporting, general maintenance of clubhouse, employee training, employee recruiting as well as human resource reporting. Other duties may apply based on business levels on-site.

General Duties
Assists in the administration of the facility operations such as conducting inventory, preparing administrative and financial reports, and assisting in the preparation of the annual operating budget; Assists in the ordering and receiving of supplies; Assists with the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, and evaluation of staff and volunteers; Adheres to revenue and expense limits; Ensures staff compliance with operating procedures and safety/security standards; Informs the public of pertinent rules and regulations; Delivers customer service by distributing literature and providing information; Assists as a liaison between County agencies and residents.
Operations
Assists with providing operational support by supervising the maintenance of assigned facilities.
Programming
Assists with providing Parks/Recreation programming support by developing and coordinating several specialized programs and special events; Maintains records necessary to the operation and evaluation of programs.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreation center and/or park management; Knowledge of fiscal record keeping and inventory procedures; Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and peripheral equipment; Ability to direct and coordinate the work of subordinate staff and volunteers; Ability to prepare a variety of administrative reports; Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, citizen groups, and the public; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:
Graduation from high school or a GED issued by a state department of education, plus two years of related experience in a recreation center, recreational park, or golf course operation or two years’ experience organizing and coordinating public recreation activities or community affairs, as applicable to the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with G1 GolfNow software. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software. Experience with the recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling of paid and volunteer staff. Experience with planning and scheduling various golf tournaments and other special events. Experience in golf course food and beverage operations or other related facility. Strong customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of Fairfax County Park Authority (or similar recreation system) operations and processes.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Driver's License (Required)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or religious reasons will still be subject to the weekly testing requirement. Otherwise, vaccinated employees will complete the attestation online in the first day of employment.
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, child protective services registry check and driver's license check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary with walking and lifting less than 5 pounds. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
