Positions are available within Estates and Facilities for Cleaners on the main University of Plymouth City Centre Campus. Under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor and as a member of the team, you will be responsible for the provision of an efficient, progressive and customer focused cleaning service, delivering a high quality environment across a diverse range of University facilities. Through your activities you will contribute to a positive student experience, supporting students throughout their journey, from enquiry to alumni, providing a culture that engages students as genuine partners with the University of Plymouth. Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, you may be assigned to other areas of the University to meet the changing needs of the University and Cleaning Service; this will in turn provide developmental opportunities in which to broaden your experience. You will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning or equivalent (or willingness to achieve) You will have a reasonable degree of physical fitness as you will be required to move, lift and carry equipment, supplies and waste bags on a daily basis. The ability to operate machinery appropriate to the post is also required. You will have effective customer service and manual handling skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A level of computer knowledge would also be advantageous. The hours and locations may vary depending on the position appointed to and are subject to the business need, however currently we are looking to recruit cleaning staff to work on the following patterns: Monday to Friday, 06.00-09.00 or 30-09.30, 3 hrs per day, 15 hrs per week. Some flexibility in hours of work will be a requirement of this role and some weekend working Previous applicants need not apply. If you have EU Settled or Pre-Settled status, you will be asked to provide your right to work share code to the recruiting panel prior to interview.
