Assistant Coach Fellowship, Women’s Basketball
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Coach Fellowship to work in the Women’s Basketball program. This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package. The position is limited to a period of no more than two years.
The Assistant Coach Fellow is responsible for assisting with all administrative and organizational aspects of coaching. Incumbent will assist in the supervision of all student-athletes playing his or her assigned position. Must operate within the guidelines of NCAA Division rules and regulations and within the mission of the University and its philosophy of intercollegiate athletics. Will guide and actively encourage student-athletes to succeed academically, acquire a degree and represent the University with the highest integrity. The coaching fellow is also responsible for assisting with the recruitment of student-athletes, adhering to NCAA, Conference and University regulations with regard to recruiting, admission standards and eligibility, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, and assisting in the establishment of effective media relations. The fellow will play a role, as assigned by the head coach, in fundraising activities and serve as a representative of the University to the outside community when appropriate.
Duties include but are not limited to:
*Assist with all administrative and organizational aspects under the supervision of the Head Coach. *Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all University, NCAA and Conference Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures paying special attention to recruiting, eligibility, admissions and financial aid. *Assist with all administrative responsibilities. *Assist with the supervision of assigned student-athletes in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition, with a concern for the players’ health and welfare, physical and psychological preparation. *Assist with recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes to meet the University’s admission standards and enrollment goals. *Uphold all University academic policies and assist, when appropriate, in counseling student-athletes relative to academic success, progress and eligibility. *Foster and maintain positive student body and faculty relations with student-athletes. *Participate in public and alumni relations and promotions activities and assist in establishing and maintaining positive relations with the media. *Assist the Head Coach in cultivating and soliciting donors to meet the fundraising goals as established by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Computer skills are a must as is knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Additional Qualifications Considered: The ideal candidate will have experience as a former NCAA basketball student-athlete and no prior collegiate coaching experience.
The position requires evening and weekend hours and travel with the team.
