About Our Job
Employment Requirement:

This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedule.
Denver Parks & Recreation is looking to hire tennis instructors to manage adult and youth programs and lessons within the tennis program while ensuring quality customer service. We utilize a variety of tennis courts and recreation centers throughout the metro Denver area, offering thousands of participants the experience of a lifetime! Our Instructors are an important part of providing high quality service to both teams and individuals of a wide range of skill levels.
We are looking for tennis enthusiasts who are passionate about playing and growing the game of tennis and pickleball ranging from grassroots level to competitive. Instruction is based on primarily group tennis lessons focused on providing fundamental based training while creating a fun and challenging atmosphere Join our dedicated team of tennis professionals and enrich the lives of youth and adult citizens through safe and enjoyable tennis instruction! Find more information about our full lineup of seasonal sports at ****Tennis Recreation Instructors: Plan and facilitate tennis programs and activities at courts throughout Denver for spring, summer and fall
Programming group adult and youth tennis lessons, coaching a junior tennis team and other types of events
Individuals will coordinate and instruct youth in skills clinics, camps and/or other types of tennis activities
Participate in additional instruction opportunities such as overseeing tournaments and leading pickleball programs
Motivate participants through encouragement and positive language
Must be committed to participant safety and willing to enforce program rules
Tennis Instructors begin the season with a Coaches Workshop that provides our coaches with expanded information on tennis instruction and prepares Tennis Professionals for individual and group lesson planning as well as season expectations. Programs run from the first week in April through the Fall with weekly programs running 8am-12pm, leagues running 6pm-8pm, and additional weekend programming running Saturday 8am-12pm.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have: Experience in playing tennis at an intermediate competitive level or higher
Experience in instructing tennis
Current CPR/First Aid Certifications
We realize your time is valuable, so please do not apply unless you have the following required minimum qualifications: Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
Experience: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities
Licensures/Certification(s): Requires certification in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
