Position Summary
The Lead, Global Sports Marketing - Athletes and Loyalty, is a strategic role that will work with the sports marketing regional teams, athletes, and contracts to help design memorable and unique Under Amour experiences that will be offered to Under Amour’s loyalty program members. These experiences could range from meet and greets with athletes, signed memorabilia, access to tips from athletes, exclusive interviews, shared communities, exclusive member only content from athletes participation and invites to certain events, etc. The goal of the role will be to help design and create extraordinary moments to reward and inspire loyalty program members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Partner with Global Loyalty team to understand UA Rewards program is and how it supports UA’s business strategy.
Leverage understanding of the program to build out unique athlete experiences for the short- and long-term.
Develop Global Sports Marketing guidelines to identify and test into the right mix of what can be delivered across seasons / Athlete roster to create offerings unique to UA.
Work cross-functionally with Athlete teams to influence contracts, time scheduled with athletes etc. to create / deliver these unique athlete experiences across Regions.
Partner with Regional Loyalty teams to deliver athlete content and other experiences to use within UA Rewards benefits.
Global athlete marketing tasks such as assisting Sr. Lead/Manager with athlete roster management, and GTM athlete integration.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Bachelor’s degree required– In sports related works, communications, business management.
MBA preferred, but not mandatory.
Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant Sports Marketing experience working for either a Global Brand, Club, Federation, League and/or Agency.
5 years managing various team sports events and appearances.
3 years experience in building experiences with athletes and influencers.
Ability to think out of the box and influence asks from Athletes and contract agreements.
Education And / Or Experience
Experience with a loyalty program is strongly preferred.
Experienced working effectively in a matrixed organization is a plus.
Experience working in events on client or agency side a strong plus.
Prior experience working for a global company with a strong, premium brand and a distinct culture also highly valued.
Prior experience working with athletes / influencers, teams, properties, and owned initiatives.
Prior measurement and consumer insights development / implementation is preferred.
Prior short- and long-term financial planning experience is preferred.
Other Requirements
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
Return To Work Designation: 2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
Travel: 30-40%, might include weekends
Relocation
Relocation may be provided up to a specified amount.
Base salary range:: $97,930.00-$134,653.00
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
