SUMMARY
Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking a qualified Athletic Trainer for the Special Warfare Training Wing/Human Performance Support Group – Medical Support Services in San Antonio, TX. The Certified Athletic Trainer will evaluate, advise, and care for Special Warfare students to assist recovery from injury, avoid injury, or maintain peak physical fitness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are
not
intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct an initial assessment of a student’s injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
Care for student injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and medication.
Evaluate student's readiness to return to training, and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists.
Collaborate with physicians in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for student injuries.
Advise athletes on the proper use of equipment.
Plan and implement comprehensive student injury and illness prevention programs.
Supervise and conduct physical training programs with consideration to individual injuries.
Develop training programs and routines designed to improve student performance.
Provide care to student for medical issues on a daily basis and coordinate with appropriate military personnel along with the Paramedic, Coaches, Program Manager, and other contractor personnel as determined necessary for the situation
Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of training facility
Organize and establish general rules of conduct for the training room facility
Recommend any changes to the leadership in regard to athletic training supplies and equipment used
Keep accurate records of all injuries, method of treatment, rehabilitation, and medical releases. In the course of normal operations, provide relevant information to SW medical staff to support the students’ medical needs.
Keep leadership informed of all students treated by the AT staff (as required)
Provide a weekly summary report to leadership on all treatments and activities conducted, including all coordination, planning and activities with non-HPSG personnel 
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate sports/medical science field.
Minimum two (2) years as a Certified Athletic Trainer - Collegiate level or higher.
Certified Athletic Trainer (NATABOC or NATA)
Must be able to obtain and maintain all of the following within four months of hire date:
Certified in Functional Movement Screening (FMS)
Certified in Graston Techniques (GT) or Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilizations
Certified in Kinesio Taping Practitioner
Certified Astym therapy provider
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Receive certification in one of the following within first 120 days:
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified personal trainer (CPT) or higher
EXOS Performance Specialist or higher
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES)
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Health Fitness Specialist (HFS).
State of Texas license to practice or able to obtain a Texas license within four months of employment
U.S. citizen
NACI background check
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Must be able to communicate clearly
Must be able to work on an inter-disciplinary team

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
This position requires working indoors, outdoors and in a pool area. Must be able to maintain health in hot and cold conditions with exposure to the elements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
