Job Description: Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Assistant coach, Women's Basketball position. u0026nbsp;Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1). u0026nbsp;u0026nbsp; This role will assist the Head Coach of Women's Basketball in all phases of the program. This includes recruiting coordination, coaching, and administrative duties. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assist in coaching and teaching of student-athletes in practice and games Serve as Recruiting Coordinator for prospective student-athletes Plan long- and short-term team objectives with the goal of enhancing individual u0026amp; team development, growth and performance Provide instruction and coaching for practices, individual sessions, and gamesu0026nbsp; Prepare and plan practicesu0026nbsp; Run drills, teach individuals and groups of players specific tasks and skills before, during and after practice on and off the fieldu0026nbsp; Analyze video and provide teaching to student-athletes using video Evaluate student-athletes to identify strengths and areas of improvementu0026nbsp; Assist with designing u0026amp; implementing instructional opportunities to improve technical and strategic executionu0026nbsp; Education and Experience Bachelors Degree, required. 2-4 years coaching experience with a competitive club, high school or collegiate program;u0026nbsp; Prior collegiate coaching experience preferred (and/or a combination of coaching u0026amp; competitive playing experience) Job Competencies Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League Rules. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication u0026amp; computer skills, necessary Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students Excellent sport specific technical, tactical and strategic knowledge. Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment. Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet u0026amp; email capabilities. Social media experience, helpful. Prior experience with video software, helpful. Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and ability to coach and motivate All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR u0026amp; First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
