GENERAL PURPOSE:
Provides a variety of support functions to the Golf Professional including, but not limited to; providing excellent customer service to all golfers; promoting the game of golf for all three Loveland golf courses; enthusiastically providing golf instruction, developing new leagues and tournament opportunities; promoting, growing, and enhancing the Junior Golf Program; freely providing accurate information on the rules of golf, fundamentals of the golf swing, course management and the mental aspects of the game. This position reports to the Golf Professional.
The salary range for this position is $20.34- $29.47
per hour with a hiring range of
20.34
24.90
depending on qualifications and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates with the Golf Professional the opening and closing of the facility; supervises temporary employees, assists golf play activities on the course; collects green fees; markets golf program; organizes tournaments and leagues; assists with all aspects of golf shop merchandising, trains golf shop employees; prepares and maintains records in regard to daily revenues, monthly and yearly summations, and bank deposits; provides lessons; runs junior program; maintains rental equipment; sets up and assists with golf clinics; coordinates with maintenance to ensure playability of course; enhances the image of the Loveland golf courses and City of Loveland through quality customer service to all golfers.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
This position is responsible for supervision of City employee(s).
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees and ensuring accountability ; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of principles and procedures of golf shop operations. Knowledge of standard computer operations and related software applications with word processing, spreadsheets, and golf-related programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and citizens; handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy; communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to train seasonal employees; organize golf leagues and tournaments. Strong interpersonal skills; merchandising skills; skill in teaching the game of golf.

Education and/or experience
A minimum of two (2) years’ golf course experience, that includes teaching golf required. Two (2) years of college-level coursework in business, marketing or related field preferred.
Licensure and/or certifications
Prefer Class A membership in PGA or LPGA. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Material and equipment directly used
Point-of-sale cash register/computer, laser printer, digital camera, calculator, multi-line telephone, fax machine, two-way radio
Working conditions and physical requirements
Light physical work requiring ability to lift up to 30 pounds; some lifting and carrying; regular walking and standing for work in pro shop; some hand/eye coordination for operation of computer and cash register; foot/eye coordination for operation of golf vehicle equipment. Required to work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
