Seton Hall University and its College of Human Development, Culture, and Media seeks a qualified individual to serve as Head Coach for its nationally-recognized Forensics program. This highly competitive co-curricular program has been characterized historically by talented well-rounded individual events speakers, partial scholarships, versatile assistant alumni- and significant institutional support. Head Coach will report to the Director of Forensics. This position is a 10-month appointment that begins on Aug 15, 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to the following:
- Coaching and preparing collaboratively with the director all Individual Events and Debate events. The Head Coach will coach in person one evening per week between 5-9 PM with virtual coaching throughout the week on an as needed basis.
- Leading weekly team meetings.
- Facilitating and supervising student research, topic selection, literature selection in accordance with the mission of the university.
- Transporting and supervising the team at the team at a minimum of 3 weekend events per semester.
- Traveling to and preparing students for the national competition.
- Overseeing all student interactions at Brownson events.
- Directing the home tournament.
- Maintain impeccable fiscal responsibility and stewardship of all travel funds while at tournaments.
- Ensuring that all students serve as effective ambassadors and responsible representative of Seton Hall University while at away events.
- Committed to the Title XI training and certification process.
- Maintaining competition data from all events.
- Communicating often with Director on all related matters and reporting to Director any student conduct infractions within 24 hours of occurrence.

Launching in Summer 2023, Seton Hall’s emerging College of Human Development, Culture, and Media (CHDCM) will be the singular place for purpose-built interdisciplinary learning focused on innovation along the continuum of human development.
