Summary: It is a myth that one abdominal-training fitness regime fits all. There are several distinct differences between the methods of how males and females sculpt ripped abs. Read this article to find out why.

Usually, both the male and female gender who have an aim to sculpt sexy, ripped abs make the mistake of assuming that both genders just have to adhere to one ripped abs training regime. There are, however, distinct differences between the ways both genders sculpt ripped abs. When guys want to craft ripped abs on their abdomens, they usually do several ab workouts without doing much cardiovascular training. Generally, men consume more calories than women, which literally mean that men should spend more time doing more cardiovascular workouts to shed the excess calories rather than ab workouts. Men should consume around 2000 calories everyday; otherwise they will lose muscle mass when they starve. Calories are needed to maintain muscle, especially for abdominal muscles. For women, the daily recommended calorie intake should revolve around 1200. Nevertheless, many men still make the same blunder of over training their abs. Not only does over-training of the abs hinder the growth progress of the male abdominal muscles, this results in over-fatigued stomach muscles which may lead to abdominal muscle deficiency syndrome. For women, they should focus on full-body workouts such as Pilates and Yoga to have a more balanced body shape. Women should consider full-body workouts because women generally eat lesser calories than men. These full-body workouts are strongly recommended as women do not overstrain their abdominal muscles in order to craft those streamlined abs. For the purposes of an abs diet, men should consume more protein than women. This is because men have a much quicker recovery of their muscles tissues as compared to women, which explain why men can grow bigger muscles than women. Of course, we have to take hormones into consideration as well, which is why there are differences that both men and women should take note of before they train their abdominal muscles. Men can have a combination of carbohydrates that are classified as low glycemic index with high levels of lean protein such as turkey. Women should also consume carbohydrates with low glycemic index as well but, women should eat meat with cleaner protein fuel such as fish. When fish is incorporated into a woman's diet, it tends to have a lower caloric effect. There is another advantage of incorporating fish into a diet, which is the addition of Omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are categorized by bodybuilders as "good fat" to build muscle. Although men and women have differences in building abdominal muscles, there is one similarity which is known as determination or willpower. To craft sexy, ripped abs, you have to be really great resolve to achieve such a challenging goal.
